Fried Tomatoes, A Tomato with Crunch!

Fried tomatoes are fun and easy to make!  They turn a tomato into a mini meal.

Ingredients:

Green tomatoes, which inevitably turn yellow on me before I get them in a frying pan, or I’ve even made them with hard red tomatoes

Corn meal

Butter (for frying)

Slice the tomatoes super thick into 3 or 4 slices.

Throw a handful of corn meal on a plate and dip the tomatoes in to coat.

Put in a pat of butter into a frying pan and once heated, in goes the coated tomatoes.

Turn the tomatoes once browned, about 3 minutes.

Enjoy on their own as a snack, or on a bagel for meal you can really bite into!
